The First Pour: Georgian Bay

September 23, 2026 @ Duntroon Cyder House

On a beautiful Autumn day we gathered in the orchard at Duntroon Cyder House with our friends The Blade & Pearl to welcome trade, hospitality and media to our second event in Southern Georgian Bay, nestled between The Blue Mountains, Collingwood and Wasaga Beach.

We chose this venue with real intention. Duntroon isn’t simply a scenic backdrop, it’s a working cider orchard as well as one of Canada’s most respected cider producers, and we felt its story mirrors our values and and those of our partners. The property is home to Dunridge Farms, purchased by the Schneider family in 2002 and managed organically from the outset, with orchard planting beginning in 2013. Today the farm and its orchards are maintained sustainably, growing garlic, apples, pears and more alongside the cider operation, and their cider itself is made without added sugar or preservatives, using traditional European methods.

We started early on event day for guests that had been recognized for their talents just 12 hours earlier at the Michelin Guide Restaurant Ceremony Toronto & Region 2026. From there we continued into the afternoon, welcoming staff from Georgian Hills Winery and regional media from Wander North and Rrampt. Then we finished up as the sun set over the water with the arrival of wine lovers and local tourism and event professionals fresh off the clock!

Although the locations and size of these first events were different, the energy and enthusiasm carried forward and our producers can be proud of how their products showed throughout. And as the first selections land in Ontario in the coming weeks, we’re grateful for the support, interest and time afforded to our introductory tastings by trade and media. Cultivating connections isn’t work, it’s who we are!
